Tumblr vs Blogger

Actually this  could include wordpress, but i did not really like that platform.
All right, both Blogger and Tumblr have a huge amount of plus points.
For aesthetics, Blogger wins hands down. The time that Blogger has existed, you have a variety of themes and motifs. Its easy to customize too. Tumblr has great themes too, but most of the good ones are not free. For a blog for personal use, that is a huge point. Tumblr is newer as compared to Blogger, so there is not as much variety.
One thing I liked a lot about Tumblr was that they give you different types of posts. Text posts, photographs, video, audio and quote. That's pretty much an excellent idea, especially for those whose blog is interested only in a certain kind. Blogger on the other hand, is pretty much a text-based platform, with various customizations thrown in.
The great thing about tumblr is that you can do the following to the photographs is that you can view them in HD if you want to.
Tumblr is obviously well liked primarily because of the 'reblog' function, a thing I would kill to have in blogger. Just reblog a thing you like, and you have it on your own blog! for this reason, Tumblr usually involves searching for blogs and reblogging what you like.
For widgets, blogger has much better third-party functionality, giving it a lot of flexibility. Tumblr has very basic html script compatibility.
For space, blogger while having a potentially unlimited space for text, has a 1GB space for photographs, which could be a problem, especially with larger photographs. Tumblr, on the other hand has a seemingly unlimited space for photographs.
All in all, tumblr is more of a miniblog, very personal, so if you are in the blogosphere for fun, then tumblr may be the thing I'll do. However, if you want your blog for more of business related stuff, as well as for more publicity, then blogger is still a good option...
