Tumblr vs Blogger

Actually this  could include wordpress, but i did not really like that platform.
All right, both Blogger and Tumblr have a huge amount of plus points.
For aesthetics, Blogger wins hands down. The time that Blogger has existed, you have a variety of themes and motifs. Its easy to customize too. Tumblr has great themes too, but most of the good ones are not free. For a blog for personal use, that is a huge point. Tumblr is newer as compared to Blogger, so there is not as much variety.
One thing I liked a lot about Tumblr was that they give you different types of posts. Text posts, photographs, video, audio and quote. That's pretty much an excellent idea, especially for those whose blog is interested only in a certain kind. Blogger on the other hand, is pretty much a text-based platform, with various customizations thrown in.
The great thing about tumblr is that you can do the following to the photographs is that you can view them in HD if you want to.
Tumblr is obviously well liked primarily because of the 'reblog' function, a thing I would kill to have in blogger. Just reblog a thing you like, and you have it on your own blog! for this reason, Tumblr usually involves searching for blogs and reblogging what you like.
For widgets, blogger has much better third-party functionality, giving it a lot of flexibility. Tumblr has very basic html script compatibility.
For space, blogger while having a potentially unlimited space for text, has a 1GB space for photographs, which could be a problem, especially with larger photographs. Tumblr, on the other hand has a seemingly unlimited space for photographs.
All in all, tumblr is more of a miniblog, very personal, so if you are in the blogosphere for fun, then tumblr may be the thing I'll do. However, if you want your blog for more of business related stuff, as well as for more publicity, then blogger is still a good option...

The Road

The Road marches on and on
A route for all of them born
A sniffling baby, hardened warrior
A way to move past the fear

It doesn't guide, only points
A hopeless quagmire to those it daunts
A days march is a day away
For those whose trust in the Road lays

A warning cry, welcoming bell
To the criminal,  even cruel cell
The Road treats all impartially
Not for the rich, talent, or even  the needy.

Unsympathetic, universal the emotion to all.
For even pride must come before a fall.
Even Frost's Road not taken
Is only a Road after all.

For those who watch the Road
Overcome by innate greed
The Road spares no kindness
to them or their creed.

For those who seek  the Road
in hope for knowledge gained
The  Road raises a kindly eye
Spares them some pain

But all in all, the Roads a path.
A reason, A way. Always remember
If the Road's gone,
There's always another way.

One of my favourite poems, by Tolkien.

Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon.

Roads go ever ever on,
Under cloud and under star.
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen,
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green,
And trees and hills they long have known.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with weary feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone.
Let others follow, if they can!
Let them a journety new begin.
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.

Still 'round the corner there may wait
A new road or secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.

Another Shock.

Now another shocking announcement from Kasab's lawyers. They urge that he be granted life imprisonment instead of capital punishment. They urge the Judiciary to do this because:
1: Giving him the death sentence would make him a martyr. Instead he should be given life imprisonment as "giving him life imprisonment for this alone would serve as deterrent to others who may be planning to become 'fidayeens' (human bombs),"
2: Kasab was not the mastermind of the entire attack, he should be viewed as a 'contract killer' only.
Frankly, this announcement really does not come as a shock, after all that is what lawyers are there for. Ujjwal Nikam had a nice time blasting these arguments though, pointing out to the fact that Kasab voluntarily joined the LeT, mercilessly killing a huge amount of people, and also enjoying his actions.
And even after this flaying of their argument, Justice Ranjana Desai had the last word, "Do you think by giving him life sentence we would be able to prevent terrorist attacks in future. What message would you like to give to the society,"
Ouch.

The Leaf's not green.

Scary it is, to comprehend, to understand,
The leaves are not green, colourless the dreamland.
Life's still short, but the beauty's gone,
Now lifeless is the crayon

Pale and drawn have we become.
Black and white our wisdom,
Are we what we really see,
Or just visions from another fantasy?

'Cause the leaf's not green
And the sky's not blue
Life is just playing with us
So shading the hues

And thus fools we are
Everything but what we see
The shades and colours
Dance about thus merrily.

So think thus of philosophy
Of balance and of boundary
Everything not what it seems
Still colourful the dreams.

'Cause the leaf's not green
And the sky's not blue
Life is just playing us
So shade the hues

What use the world,
What use these words,
Lets take the crayons and play,
And colour the world away.

And so at rest will this Beauty
Keep the smoldering anxiety.
And fill our hearts with new joy
New colours there to enjoy.

The Leaf 's not green
And the sky's not blue
But till my eyes open,
I will enjoy these hues
